LADOT RETIREES GROUP GIVES AWAY ITS 100,000TH JACKET TO THE NEEDY. JOIN THE EFFORT.
Alive! has brought you several stories of the amazing work of Transforming a Life – a group of City and State employees and Retirees who collect and hand out winter jackets to the needy. The volunteer group, now numbering more than 800 throughout the United States and centered in Los Angeles, is headed by Zaki Mustafa, Retired, LADOT, Club Member.
In November, the group passed an amazing mile stone – they collected and donated their 100,000th jacket – all free to those in need.
The collection and donation effort continues year round, but it carries more weight during the holidays.
