The LADWP Retirees Association held a board meeting April 11 to approve the presidency of Andrew Virzi Jr.; welcome in new board members; and honor outgoing president Dolores Foley. Vince Foley, her husband, remains on the board in a new capacity.
The meeting was convened by president Dolores Foley, who has led the association for 30 years. She conducted the vote that accepted Andrew Virzi Jr. as new president. He had been vice president.
Andrew Virzi also serves on the board of the Los Angeles City Employees Association Insurance Services (the Employees Club).
Andrew then thanked Dolores Foley for her decades of service, and Vince Foley, as his role changes. The Foleys were honored by Venest Henry-Evans and Mike Tufegdzich, President and CEO of the Water and Power Community Credit Union. Dolores and Vince were also honored by LADWP Retirement Plan Manager Linda Lee.
Also exiting the board were members David Cox and Anna Gee. Forming the new board are: Andrew Virzi Jr., president; Phyllis Currie, vice president, Joan Brown, secretary; Charles Lautman, treasurer; Betty Porter, Employees Association liaison; Venest Henry-Evans, Credit Union liaison; and Vince Foley, benefits adviser.
Virzi announced the next LADWP Retirees Association picnic would be held Sat., June 6 at Friendship Auditorium, 3201 Riverside Dr. near Griffith Park.
Club CEO Robert Larios and Dulce Lopez, the Club’s Retiree Coordinator, were present to thank the Foleys for their service and congratulate the new board.
