On May 19, the California Dept. of Water Resources joined the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife near the Salton Sea to survey endangered desert pupfish to better protect and restore their habitat.

The CDFW pupfish projects at the Salton Sea aim to protect and restore habitat for the endangered desert pupfish. These efforts focus on mitigating habitat loss and controlling invasive species in the sea’s tributaries, irrigation drains and the expansive Species Conservation Habitat (SCH) project.

Well done to the two departments! Serving the people – and pupfish – of California. Teamwork doubles the public service.
