Rodney June, longtime and successful Chief Investment Officer, LACERS, retired July 11. He had 24 years of City service overall, and 14 years as the Chief Investment Officer.
Under his leadership, the LACERS investment team successfully grew the pension trust fund from $10.6 billion in 2012 to nearly $27 billion today. His retirement marks the culmination of a distinguished public service career that also includes impactful contributions to the LA City Housing Dept. and the State of Hawaii. He plans to spend his next chapter traveling the world—one of his favorite pastimes —and engaging in meaningful nonprofit work.
“We at LACERS extend our deepest gratitude and wish Rod the absolute best on his next great adventure!” the department said.
Congratulations, Rodney, on a significant career of taking care of the retirements of tens of thousands of public employees, including those in the City of LA.
