In June, Cal State Transportation Agency leaders Marcie Kahbody, Jessica Chan and Karl Kopper joined a panel discussion on that very topic to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven decision-making can help improve roadway safety.
The panel discussion took place at the University of California Center in Sacramento.
The CalSTA leaders proposed that by identifying risks earlier, improving coordination and using data more effectively, transportation agencies can move from reacting to crashes to preventing them.
