VICTOR CASTILLO RETIRES AFTER 33 YEARS OF CITY SERVICE.

On April 4, the Board of Public Works honored Victor Castillo, who retired after 33 years of City service. Victor started his City career as a Refuse Collection Truck Operator (RCTO) in Sanitation and Environment’s East Valley Collection Yard. After a couple of years, he transferred to the West Valley Yard.

In September 2023, Victor joined the Livability Services Division on the Illegal Dumping/Altered Shift Response Team. This team is engaged in ensuring that illegal dumping is eradicated through the City.

Sanitation reports that Victor was admired by his co-workers for being a hard worker, working without complaints, and completing his tasks on time. Many Supervisors and team members declared that Victor was an exceptional employee and an example for all of his co-workers.

Victor said that an attitude of reporting to work excited every day make his work days light and less stressful.

Congratulations on your long and distinguished career, Victor. Thank you for your service.
