Club Angels, a separate charity managed by Club staff, was honored Nov. 6 by the Los Angeles County Asian American Employees Association (LACAAEA) for efforts to assist victims of the Altadena and Palisades fires earlier this year.
Club Angels managed clothing and household item drives in January and February in cooperation with other associations. The drives were held at the Club warehouse in Carson.
“Your generosity in providing your facilities created a vital hub for sorting thousands of donated clothing items, ensuring aid reached those most impacted by the Altadena and Palisades fires,” the LACAAEA wrote. “These actions not only provided structure and safety in a time of great need, but also reflected the very best of community stewardship.
“In recognition of your extraordinary contribution to the community, LACAAEA is honored to present the Community Builder Award to Club Angels.”
The Club Angels team that helped manage the clothing drives were present at the awards banquet, held at the 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead.
Others honored on the night included Edward Yen, Executive Officer of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors; SafeRacks; and Fire & Rain Inc.
Congratulations and well done to Club Angels, and to all Club Members who contributed their time, effort and clothing in helping fire victims.
