Law enforcement units took part in National Night Out.

CHP San Jose

“Some of our favorite moments don’t happen on the highway.

“National Night Out gave us the chance to step away from our patrol cars and spend an evening connecting with the people we serve.

“Whether we were answering questions, meeting future Officers, playing games with kids, or simply sharing a laugh with neighbors, every conversation reminded us why events like this matter.

“Thank you to our law enforcement partners, community organizations, and everyone who came out to spend the evening with us.

“We may wear the uniform, but nights like this remind us that the strongest connections are made person to person. Thank you for letting us spend the evening with you.”

Statewide: On Tues., Aug. 4, law enforcement units throughout California took part in National Night Out, a nationwide event that brings community and law enforcement together for building neighborhoods, sharing crime prevention tips, and having some family fun.

In the past, more than 32 million people nationwide were reported to have participated in 9,600 communities in all 50 states.

Many units took part. Here are some images from the evening.

LAPD Northeast Division

“Thank you to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for inviting LAPD Northeast Division to celebrate National Night Out with the community!

“It was a great evening filled with conversations, smiles and opportunities to strengthen the partnership between our Officers and the community we proudly serve. Together, we continue building safer and stronger neighborhoods.”

LAPD Harbor Division / LA Port Police / Rec and Parks Park Rangers

“Our second annual National Night Out at LAPD Harbor Division was a grand success. We had a greater turnout than last year. We would like to start off by thanking all the police departments that participated – LAPD South Traffic, LAPD SWAT, Metro K9, LAFD and other community members who also took part. A big shoutout to all our sponsors who supported us in this event along with LAPD Mariachi for performing. Without everyone, this event would not have been possible.

“Congratulations to all the Officers and community members who received a recognition for the hard work and dedication they have shown to keeping the community safe.

“The community members got to see the station, have some good food and participate in a backpack giveaway.”

LAPD South Traffic Division

“LAPD South Traffic Division was proud to join our community for National Night Out! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with our Officers and help strengthen the partnership that keeps our neighborhoods safe.

“A special congratulations to Officer Andy Rowe on receiving a commendation from the Councilmember’s Office in recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to our community. Well deserved!”

“We appreciate everyone who took the time to come out and spend the evening with us. Events like National Night Out help strengthen the partnerships between law enforcement and the communities we serve.
