Ashleyanne Krigbaum has been named Education Lead at the California Institution for Women (CIW) in Chino. She will run the education program at CIW, and several other educational efforts the institution is working on for folks inside and outside the facility. thirty
Ashleyanne has worked as senior producer and editor on award-winning podcasts for KQED, Audible, Sony, Wondery, and Crooked Media. She replaces senior producer Cat Schuknecht, who has left the position.
The California Institution for Women (CIW) is a state prison located in Chino, California. Operated by the CDCR, it houses more than 1,000 incarcerated female and non-binary individuals, ranging from low-security to specialized care and psychiatric populations.
CIW offers numerous rehabilitation services, including forestry, substance abuse counseling, and self-help groups. Notably, the institution partners with local universities to provide higher education.
