On March 26, members of the Retiree Society had an astronomical afternoon when they joined LACERS Well to explore the universe at Griffith Observatory.

The group of more than 50 met at the Observatory before exploring its displays and attractions on their own. The afternoon concluded with a Planetarium show titled “Signs of Life,” in which the audience discovered what it took to put life in the universe in the one place where it is known to exist – earth. The show explained how the laws of chemistry and physics drove cosmic evolution, and then traveled through the solar system, the Milky Way Galaxy, and beyond in a search for more signs of life.

Beyond the Observatory, the day offered something just as meaningful: time outdoors, movement, and shared experiences. Opportunities like this help Retirees stay active, reduce stress, and strengthen social connections that are key to a healthy and fulfilling retirement.
