On March 25, the LAFD celebrated the retirement of Deputy Chief Robert Nelson. An event was held at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Elysian Park.With more than 33 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Los Angeles, Chief Nelson exemplified professionalism, leadership and an unwavering commitment to public safety.
Dep. Chief Nelson began his LAFD career in 1994. His service as an Instructor, Assistant Chief, Battalion Chief and Deputy Chief focused on emergency management, safety, homeland security, and arson/counterterrorism protection.
