DROP IN FATAL CRASHES LEADS TO ASSOCIATION AWARD.
On Oct 27, CHP West Valley and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Dept. Lost Hills unit received the Bill McSweeney Award for Excellence in Interagency Collaboration at the Police Officers Association of Los Angeles County (POALAC)’s Centurion Awards.
The Malibu Task Force’s work along the Pacific Coast Highway led to a 75 percent drop in fatal crashes—and zero fatalities in 2025.
Amazing work keeping us safe, Officers!
The Centurion Awards honor those who exemplify courage, leadership and service to the local communities. This year’s event paid special tribute to longtime POALAC Executive Board member Bill McSweeney.
The mission of the Peace Officers Association of Los Angeles County is to lead, train, facilitate, inspire and advocate on behalf of federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies and private sector security professionals to maximize the safety of those who depend upon them.
Congratulations, CHP West Valley and LASD Lost Hills from the Club.
