LAFD/LAPD: The 23rd St. Baldrick’s local fundraiser, hosted locally by members of the LAPD and LAFD, took place May 30 at the Vineyards at Porter Ranch. The event featured a pancake and sausage breakfast, live music, family-friendly activities, and the signature head-shaving ceremony, all aimed at raising funds for childhood cancer research.
At St. Baldrick’s events, Firefighters, Police Officers and community members have their heads shaved in solidarity with children battling cancer and raise funds through pledges.
The local event was part of a nationwide St. Baldrick’s Foundation event. Organizers say they have raised more than $1 million locally over the previous two decades.
