Napa, Santa Rosa
Sometimes you want to get out of Los Angeles without going too far. For this trip, Napa was a great option. The group I traveled with had different ideas about what they wanted to do, so we needed a destination that was budget-friendly with something for everyone.
We visited Frank Family Vineyards and Castello di Amorosa for wine tastings and a little Napa history, but the trip wasn’t all about wine. We also rented bikes, drove to Santa Rosa to visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum, and some of the group even made time for a casino.
For my stay, I used the Club’s MyDeals hotel discount to book The Westin Verasa Napa. A recent comparison listed the hotel at $365 per night through MyDeals versus $396 on Hotels.com and Orbitz, a savings of $31 per night.
Check-in was easy, and the hotel offered on-site dining. The food wasn’t my favorite, but Oxbow Public Market was less than an easy 10-minute walk away with plenty of food, coffee and snack options.
I flew into Sacramento and used the Club’s Budget rental car discount for the drive to Napa; the Club’s Budget rental discount is always worth it. After taking the airport shuttle to the rental car location, check-in was quick and I was on my way. The return was just as easy, but I arrived early to leave enough time for the shuttle back to the airport.
Napa gave us exactly what we wanted: a quick California getaway, plenty to explore and something for everyone.

Easy pickup and return, with the flexibility to explore on our own schedule. Give yourself extra time for the shuttle when returning to the airport.
