The Palisades Recreation Center showed off its new playground at an official ribbon cutting July 31. It marked the first step in the Rec Center’s plans to restore and rebuild its facilities, which were devastated in the January fires in LA.
The event included information on both park improvements that are under way and the center’s current programs. The larger park remains a bigger project. The main gym, destroyed in the fire and highlighted in the June issue of Alive!, has been torn down and awaits a rebuilding program and funding.
Well done, Pali Rec Center, on your first steps toward recovery and reopening.
